Hey, i finally took my car to the track tonite to get some times. I've had my car for like 2 yrs and never took the time to go, Anyway you guys will be laughing at my reaction times . But it was my first track race ever and I was still trying to figure out that damn light tree.
My setup:
50 shot NOS warmed up
bottle only 1/3 left
CAI
stock tires (fronts at 25psi)
Yeah that's it all else stock, except suspension. I didn't get a chance to take out anything from my car, as the track trip was a spur of the moment thing. So add my dual 12" subs/box (85lbs) and spare tire stuff which I would have preferred to have removed.
So I was expecting maybe low 15's since I'm SS. My first run was 15.373@97.72 and I shifted out of 3rd at 5500rpm for some dumb reason. Next run was my best as I ran out of nitrous thereafter. I torque braked to start (got them to chirp! haha so sad). Well, I was damn happy tho as I ran 14.596@98.47.
Track conditions: 41deg <- definit helped

just scanned the fast slip from tonite, the other car on there was an SRT-4. I also made a no spray run at the end of the night and managed a 16.317@88.27. I'd say spraying helped me out a lot! I'm pleased but there is SO much room for improvement, i'd like to try a 60shot reserved for track only.
Oh, forgot to mention I started spraying at 2800rpm in 1st and kept it going.
Wow, very impressive! I have a 60 shot in mine so I wonder how i'll do

Thats very impressive. With those mods, most 5spds are running around there. Granted, the cold weather may have helped, but thats still a freakish time for a SS.

Thanks guys, laughin i sent you a PM with my info. I don't kno how freakish my time is as my car has always run strong without any real mods (16.3 stock time seems normal).
I couldn't believe that the 50 shot took off 1.7sec! That made me feel so much better about going the nitrous route. My friends were saying to go turbo and nitrous now haha, obviously they don't kno any better.
So my front driver camber kit broke today driving down ****in Balitmore roads (it was a matter of time). But I'll try get it replaced as i want to head back to the track on Fri.

Your nitrous and cold weather took off that amount of time. You still have nice times so don't get me wrong. My first run was my best with no TQ breakin at 15.6, intake and 50 shot, 98 degree heat and 90 percent humidity. I was pretty scared my first time and waited for the other car to take off. I need to go back to the track and see what will happen. Nice times but I don't think I will ever see track temps like you do

Well number one CECIL COUNTY is the fastest track in the country. That's where they had the Dakota R/T national meet. I have a 10.3 sec R/T and that's my cecil time. I couldn't get below a 10.8 anywhere in GA, TN, or NC. The track is downhill, no joke. You should add at least .5 if your running at Cecil. I also think its at or below sea level which helps some as well.

the dry shot explains why he's yeilding good track times. hey foShizzEtc did you have a bottle warmer goin? doesnt seem like itd be at the right pressure at that temperature outside unless you had it heated. glad to see an SS not sucking it up finally. congrats

wow....you should be doing better than that man...seriously....my Stock 93 SI AT ran a 16.69 you should be faster than me by a fair amount
you havent been around enough 5g autos. everyone ive been around has been at least a half second slower than my 4th gen auto. their trannies are just worthless and suck down excessively abnormal amts of hp. 4g autos just take it better.

Thanks eu4ik, yeah the nitrous was warmed up with a dynotune bottle heater to 900psi constant. Also, Cecil may or may not be downhill haha but my times still show that I improved 1.7 sec on the bottle versus off. The spraying improvement is enough to make me happy.
I was running 16.3's stock (+CAI) there so I don't think the track is super fast like 1/2 sec maybe .2.

5spds running that should kill themselves. i ran a 15.1 with just a cai.
