Do a compression check. You have no idea what shape your motor is in until you do this.

^^yeah do a compression test first if it comes out >200 psi for all cylinders then i'd say you are good to go with a 50 shot. Mine came out 215 psi at almost 40K miles and I've been spraying on an an SS with no problems so far (cross fingers).

The numbers themselves in a compression test dont really matter unless they are extremely low. Ex. 150 and below. You need all cylinders to be within about 5% of each other though to spray safely.

Is a compression test easy to do? Where can I buy a tester or is it cheaper to have a place do it for me?

167,xxx miles

Not to highjack this thread but I have about 167,xxx miles on my 1997 base if my compression checks out to be good and within 5% for each cyclinder is it ok if I spray 50-75 shot? I don't plan on building h22 either. If it's not a good idea to spray then I'll just save up for something else.

Thanks
Jon

If your compression is good, then it is fine.

What he said. I know people with mileage as high as yours that run nitrous with no problems.

my 4th gen had like 180-200 across the board ahahah and im sprayin the crap out of it. 4th gen autos hold a lot better than the 5ths for some reason though.

oh yeah and i started spraying at about 140k. im at 150k now and ive lowered the fuel pill since then muahah

spray spray spray. i dont think ill ever have a car that doesnt get nitrous. reguardless of mileage.
