Should I get Nitrous?

I'm debating on getting a ZEX kit (this one: http://www.compperformancegroupstore...uct_Code=82011 ) that a guy is selling. He used it for 6 months and is going to include new jets of my choice for free. Total price is going to be $250 shipped.

The thing that scares me is that my engine has 186,000 miles on it. Will a 75-shot affect the life of it if used correctly? I guess the only fear I have is that I'll blow my motor up (and that my Dad will freak if he finds the kit).

Zex is a really nice set up-Its super easy to install and its a pretty safe system to run. The Mileage on your car won't really have an impact on how the nitirous affects your car. Have you car checked out for its compression and make sure your service is up to date. A small shot of nitirous isn't going to hurt the car it will however augment any existing problems. I ran a 75-100 shot on my daily driver with similar miles. You will need to get a set of colder plugs too. This works wonders and won't make your car throw a CEL when your on it. You'll quickly get over the fear of using the juice once you've tried it. As long as you don't go getting stupid with it, like using nitrious for long burn outs or running the juice from 0-150mph then the engine will hold together nicely. additionally you'll want to get your valves relashed($120) after the first couple of shots to make sure nothing is comming apart on you not that it will if you don't but this keeps the car well maintained and quiet. Its suggested that you use it in 10-15 sec bursts. When you install it make sure that your line that is comming out of the bottle is faced downward-this will insure that your getting a full shot. also if you live in a cold climate then you'll want a bottle warmer. Its best when used over 700 psi in the bottle. If this kit doesn't have a gauge you'll want to invest in one. but do the plugs first! Controling nitirous is basicly controling the heat the engine produces. You can run as big of a "shot" that you want as long as you have extra fuel to burn. when you don't have extra fuel the first thing to go is the first softest metal-Aluminium. So you'll be just fine as long as you get a set of colder plugs, run premium gas and don't play stupidly with it. Once you get it set up you'll be smoking New Mustangs-The only thing that I ever raced that whooped me with nitrous was Ferrari spider and a Lotus Esprit, and the only thing that kept pace with me was a G35...The guy claimed it was stock but I have my doubts.

You'll have alot of fun with this as long as your smart about it. Feel free to ask questions about the set up-Its better safe than sorry!

Thanks! I'm changing my setup to a Turbo but I'll more than likely add some Juice just for the fun of it. A Nitrous set up will be the best money you'll ever spend on your car-Hands down. Some people call it cheating but hey, they can do it to. You'll probably hear alot of things like "bottles are for babies" or "I'll take you with out the nitrous" but these are usually things from people who are pissed they just bought a new GT and get their butt handed to them by a Honda. After awhile I found new uses for my set up. Being that I had my purge comming out the front grill I could use it to sweep the driveway. I also use it to scare animals and small children. Their reactions are priceless

I got this one kid a while back he must have been about 8 or 9 and he was out on a side walk with his dog and he had a stick in his hand and he was swinging it over his head in a tree like he was trying to get at something like a bird or a snake or something and he had his back to me and his dog wasn't paying any attention when I rounded a corner and seen my unsuspecting victim ...I couldn't resist man I purged and scared that boy good man he lept like something had a hold on him and dropped his stick in the process-I have expected the finger but then again he was young.
