?s for those with JNMM

-How's the install? How big is it and where did you mount it?
-Do I need to splice into any ECU wiring?
-How does it retard timing automatically when you spray?

What ignition would be optimal with it? I am planning on going with a 70 shot. But I can only get 91 octane. Would retarding 4 or 5 degrees with 91 be ok? I'm not quite sure on what the differences between ignitions are.

MSD SCI/SCIL
MSD 6a/6aL
Then there's the digital 6. What's the difference between that and the 6a?
What about optional add-ons for ignition? Window switch, 2 step limiter, etc. Would they add on to any model ignition? Is a window switch and Jacobs NMM overkill?

And finally, if I get the JNMM and Igntion, does that mean i won't have to worry about a manual retarding option on the ignition itself? What about for N/A daily driving? Would the JNMM and Igntion help in daily driving? Or only be beneficial during the use of nitrous? If not, then does that mean I should look for an ignition that has a breakout box that lets you retard/advance timing from within the car for N/A use?

Thanks-

Will Get back to you this evening hopefully, not much time this AM. Couple quick answers though, go to www.jacobselectronics.com and look at their instructions for different ignition systems, just make sure you get one that's listed. The JNMM retards you timing for you while spraying, 0-15 degrees, adjustable from the cabin. Install wasn't real hard, wasn't real easy either, more about that later. Have a great day.

will the JNMM's revlimiter work while not spraying? I'm going to get an ignition and I'm wondering what one to get. I'm already set on getting the JNMM, but if I got the MSD 6A would the JNMM limit the revs while not spraying?

You realize that the JNMM will eat up your solenoids right?

Yes the limiter works full time. I still like the JNMM for its timing retard, rev limiter. But as Laughin said, they are a noid eating mofo.

You could use the nitrous mastermind for its other options, and not as a progressive controller. It might not we worth it, but its still an option to use for a rev limiter and to retard timing.

You would need to get an MSD 6A for $150 just to run the $220 JNMM. For $280 you can have an MSD dig 6 that is a two stage rev limiter and has a timing retard feature.

I just kinda like the idea of all it does. I don't plan on using the progressive portion of it. I mainly want something that will retard timing, start spraying at a specific rpm and cut the spray at a specific rpm. Now I could use a msd dig ignition and an msd window, but I just like the versatility of the JNMM. You don't have to mess with pills or anything, just turn a knob to adjust it. What would you recommend for a setup like I am looking for?

Why do you want the window switch feature? Personally, I'm going with just the MSD Dig 6. I set the rev limiter before the fuel cut, turned the knobs that control the retard stage to 2.5 degrees, and I am never below 4000 rpm when I race, so I'm not worried about spraying below 3000 rpm. The Dig 6 does what I need it to do. Different people have different needs though.

Well, I have an SS and when I go to the track I'd like something consistant (something to trigger to spray at xxx rpm). I'll look into the dig 6 ignition a little more I guess. One more question though, what triggers the ignition to retard the timing? Is there a wire that tells it when to retard?

Not sure how it works, been awhile since I installed mine, but it retards only when nitrous is triggered. probably gets power to that circuit at the same time the noids do.

Yes, there is one red wire that you hook up to the line going to the nitrous noid. When the wire sees 12V it retards the timing.
