The kit would void the warranty, but if you wanted you could just try uninstalling it before you take it into the shop.

You will be able to feel the nitrous with the SS tranny too. All the kits have benefits.
NX= most powerful
NOS= Name recognition
Zex= Safiest and fastest install

You might have trouble with your tranny holding up if you start spraying. They seem to fail a lot even without increased stress. I personall would go with NX though.

you will definately be able to feel the nitrous with an SS. I have an SS and nitrous has be my favorite mod so far, I would highly recommend it. As for your warranty, it is all up to the dealer. You could remove the kit if you have work done to your car, but that is up to you and your honesty. Read through the stickies and get a good feel for what nitrous does before you make and decisions, and then read through the stickies again to make sure you got everything down.

To keep your warranty, don't let it go near the dealer w/o a full uninstall.

Nitrous will void your warranty. I have a 98 SS with 84k miles and a NOS dry 70 shot, 2yrs and no problems yet. You will feel a 50 shot but with a 70 shot traction is a serious issue.

Screw the warranty, why put nitrous on it and nothing else for 7 years? Your losing out on all the fun.....and i wouldnt worry about the car breaking, not many peoples do....if you blow the tranny its ok cause you need a 5 speed anyways.....

I say nitrous it. The SS has a history of failing anyway, without mods. Might as well hook it up and run it. If the SS fail, take off the kit and get the tranny replaced under warranty

In fact, I doubt the occasional extra power is that bad for the tranny, I imagine putting miles on it everyday is worse. I highly recommend juicing your car, it becomes a completely different car on the bottle.

i blew a ringland and valves on a ZEX 65 dry shot. The dealer would not honor my warranty even after I took the kit totally out. They said there is no way with a good timing belt and correct timing I could do that unless I overrev'd it. So they said I overrev'd it when in reality I detonated on the spray bad.

vector, did you have colder plugs? any cause of this detonation?
I would say that is odd if you took all the precautions.

Let us know.

I've heard that ZEX kits are one of the safest out there. Of course that's if your don't abuse. I have a friend that has been spraying a 55 dry shot for about 2 years and he's had no problems.

Zex isnt exactly the safest kit to use. Wet kits are safer than dry but I dont think one company is really safer than any other. Zex kits are supposed to be very simple to install though.
