Nitrous Kits and a VAFC

Ok... so I just ordered a VAFC for my car. I plan on finishing my bolt-ons... I have I/E right now and plan to get pullies, header, and cat and have the VAFC tuned. Eventually I was thinking of getting a small shot of nitrous for my car... like a 50-60 shot.

My question is... when leaning out a/f from the VAFC, it doesn't really leave much room for fuel for nitrous. So I was thinking...

1) Is there anyway I can make the VAFC and nitrous kit work together without having to resort to a more complex wet kit?

2) Is there some way I can maybe just turn the VAFC off when I spray?

Thanks in advance guys,
Jeremy

I believe the new vafc allows you to have 2 maps, so you could just switch maps. A wet kit isn't much more complicated than a dry kit is, the only extra items it has is a fuel solenoid and 2 more lines.

^^^ can anybody confirm that the vafcII allows 2 maps? I don't plan on putting in the kit for a while... but I figure by the time I put it in, I'll have the kind of setup I described... so I'm just planning.

Oh come on. I know that you are smart enough to install a wet kit. The hardest part is the wiring which is the same for both kits. Get a wet kit. I'll sit on aim and walk you through the install if it'll get you to go with a wet kit.

So you're getting an NX wet kit correct? Good I'm glad that is settled.

so with the VAFC running along with the nitrous wet kit... I should be getting quite a bit of extra power then since I should already be running pretty fast with the vafc and bolt ons alone. What kind of 1/4 mile time do you think I could get with that set up on a say... 60 shot?

the printed jetting for an NX single fogger are 35, 50 and 75. You can jet for a 60, but you would have to call NX or search the internet for the jet combo. 1/4 mile times with a 50 shot would be a 13.7-14.0, depending on your driving ability, track conditions and the air.

There is a sticky of 1/4 mile times and setups, you might browse around there. Just remember that NX rates their shot sizes at the wheels, so a 50 shot of NX is probably a 65 shot of other companies (not that it matters since they all use the same nitrous, it just makes NX kits appear to be more "powerful").

SO I need to jump in on this thread to since this is tha same way I'll be going. I plan on getting a 75 shot nos wet kit. I to have the V-AFC installed but not dynoed, should I wait to dyno it until I get the NOS kit installed or will it read the nitrous on its own?

I would install the nitrous kit and then dyno tune it. When you tune it, just adjust your a/r ratio for off the bottle, and then make pull on the bottle. Then you can adjust the size of the fuel jet (the factory jetting recommendation is going to be rich) to squeeze a few more ponies out of it.
