Kits: New vs Used...

Just wanted to get a feel from all of the nitrous experts or people with experiences. Is it really just worth it to get a new kit vs perhaps purchasing a used one? Seems like buying a used kit will save you money, but would the risks of uninstalling and reinstalling the kit be a factor in the quality and workmanship of the parts?

Also, how readily available are parts that may somehow be left out of a used system able to be found. Maybe the person who I bought it from damages a part or forgets to send it. Would the manufacturer of the kit be able to send you random parts and pieces and how much of a pain would that be?

Seems to me that spending a few extra $$$ would be worth it?

Thoughts?

Thanks

Bought mine used on ebay. Previous owner included everything needed. He even shipped the tank half full!

Nope, not at all. I also bought a second bottle (so that I won't have to be empty while refilling. The closest refill is 50 miles from here) The second bottle I bought (on ebay also) was full on arrival. Saved $40 by buying it full. Don't know what UPS would say if they knew what they are delivering. Very unlikely for anything bad to happen as far an nitrous goes. Might scare the driver if the valve gets bumped open!

Is it more flammable than a small lp bottle for a gas grill? They ship those using ups. Same with gun ammo.

Not for being flammable, i thought it was some kind of hazardous material or chemical or something...don't quote me though.

on the shippers!
If it dropped, and the valve was knocked off, the bottle should take off like a rocket.
Also, if there is a fire, and the valve opens, it could help a fire spread, remember N2O is an oxidizer, so it supplies more oxygen to help combustion.

it is. Very illegal. and the fine is VERY stiff.

they ship hazerdous materials, but only because they know they're hazardous and take the extra care. Shipping the bottle full and just not saying anything is a HUGE no-no.
