internals questions

ok so my engine is getting pieced together. as far as internals goes it has:

darton sleeves
eagle rods
crower stg 2 camshafts w/ crower valve spring + ti retainers

what else do i need to hold a 100-150 shot, as far as internals go? i want to beef up everythign i can... the more protection the better.

are aftermarket valves a good idea? recommendations?

can someone explain why a metal head gasket should be considered? and what about o-ringing? and what about both?

also, i was shopping online for ARP head bolts, yet i only see "main" bolts for the h22 yet i see "head" bolts for the b and d series engines... can someone clarify me on this?

thanks in advance

You'll need JE pistons also. O-ring the block and use the stock head gasket. Get ARP hardware to hold it together. I'm sure that they make headbolts, but you may just need to give them a call directly. Oversized valves and an upgraded valvetrain will also help.

Laughin, what parts are you gonna use for your build up? I am buying my CM stage 3 clutch this month, and am gonna start buying my pistons, rods, ect. over the next few months. Gonna do my build up in the off season. Just curious to see what your plans are.

JE pistons, Crower or Pauter rods, Darton or GE sleeves, O ringed block, ARP hardware, and stock headgasket. I'll send the head out for some work and get the basic Ferrea Valves and whatever valvetrain the shop sells. I haven't decided which cam yet either. I'm thinking of getting something big/stage 3 so that I lose some lowend power. I'm hoping that will help me get off of the line better.

You're going to get alot of heat and pressure in the cylinders. Some Ferrea valves will be very beneficial.

They are what all of the pros use over on H-T, so I am assuming yes they are better. In any case they aren't bad.
