how much can my set up handle

Alright so i have a block with with Darton press in sleeves with Crower Rods and Wiseco 12.5:1 pistons. I have heard that you can run 75-100 shot if you run it with higher octane but if anyone has done a similar set up then maybe you could give me some help. thanks everyone

Yeah 880 is way to big. 35% of your factory output is a safe way to go. I ran 7 bottles of juice on a stock set up. I did get CEL's when running hard and deep in to 3rd gear but never had a problem. Are you running factory injectors now?

i have stock injectors but i will end up trading my 880 injectors for some smaller injectors. Do you think my setup could handle a Direct port of a 100 shot and also would i have to use higher octane fuel?

Stock is good for about 50-75 once you go with a bigger shot you'll have to calculate your injectors based on your projected horse power. For a 100 shot direct port you'll want more than just injectors you need a Wide band o2 sensor to keep an eye on your Air fuel mix, and a good piggy back EMU will be essential also. You'll want to aim towards a 13:1 mix.

Nitrious fuel management is different from say boost or N/A because the Juice hits all at once and isn't gradual so you'll need the extra fuel there before hand, which means you will run rich when your not using the juice. Also look to retard your timing by 2 degrees(100 shot) you'll want some cam gears to keep this accurate a good rule of thumb is to go 1 degree for every 50hp an after market ignition isn't required your stock system can handle the duty.

What you will have to look for though if you plan on running a 100 shot is what is know as Drive train shock-If you have an SS there isn't much help you can get to prevent this outside of a Nitrious Maximizer of some sort that controls the level of spray released in RPM intervols. Make sure you have a good clutch if you have a 5speed because the nitrous is brutal to the drive train.

For a 100 shot you'll want to go with something around 440 check out the RC Injectors site for information that will be best for your application. They have all the formulas there to make sure your set up is safe and reliable.

Also know that injectors are not based so much on PSI as they are flow. make suer that your entire fuel system is up to the duty of running at the pressure that 440cc injectors are rated at. for example our stock system is usually some where between 40-45 PSI to flow at our stock rated injector. (stock injectors vary in size depending on the year of the prelude so what works for me may not work for you) The way you can tell is if say the injector is a 440cc at 50lbs-this means you'll flow the 440cc's at 50psi if your stock system is only rated to 40-45, you'll need an adjustiable Fuel pressure regulator to bump the pressure. This should get you set for awhile however. Know that by raising the pressure your putting more stress on the fuel pump, so if yours has 170k miles on it drop the $100 bucks for an after market pump-make sure its a low pressure high volume one too.

Oh dang-one other thing with bigger injectors and retarded timing-your car will suck when its not on the juice. but in trade for power your giving up gas milage and don't expect to pass emissions also most states its illegal to use nitrous on the street-however being illegal doesn't make it any harder to use, It is not illigal to have in the car though they just have to prove you were using it. I was stopped twice with mine and I had it mounted in the back seat on that plastic do-dad just behind the arm console this made it easy to open and close the bottle. Another thing, the bottle only needs to be open about a quarter turn for it to work, there is no need to open it all the way it won't give you more power. AND NEVER LEAVE YOUR SYSTEM ON (OPEN) WHEN THE CAR IS OFF NO MATTER HOW LONG THE CAR IS OFF!!!!EVER!!-NEVER EVER! What happens is the soldnoid leaks down slowly, and when its leaking down is goes into the engine so the next time you start the car you have a cloud of nitrous in there with no gas and no oil in the chamber-KA-BOOM! Doing this won't blow up your engine the first or second time but it will kill your rings and thats the most common problem with nitrous.
