Hello to whomever reads this. I was wondering, how hard is it to really install a nitrous system into a 5th Gen. Prelude? I've never really thought of putting it onto my car, but maybe one day I'll do it, and I was wondering if I could install it myself. I do most of my car work anyways, but I've never messed with a Nitrous system for my car or any of my friends cars. Give me some input guys/girls.
When I put in my nitrous system, I had only limited experience of working on cars. Most I had done was the intake, sound system, and routine maintenance. That said, the project took me a lot longer than expected, on and off about 3 days. The trickiest (and time-consuming) part is routing all the electrical and deciding where to mount your switches and solenoids. The rest is not too bad. I'd say if you're comfortable with your electrical skills and have proper tools, you'll be fine. Also, the instructions I had from NOS were very clear on every step. I noticed the links are dead in our Install Sticky but I saved a couple DIY's from fellow members that saved me from headaches, let me know if you want me to email them to you.
Also, you need to consider which accessories you will get. I'd highly recommend a purge, remote bottle opener, bottle heater, and digital pressure gauge. Each of them add heavily to the convenience/safety of your system and aren't very difficult to install.

Thanks alot...That's put me at ease a bit. I'm pretty good with electrical stuff, but I'm just not comfortable with having 130K miles on my motor right now. I'm just worried that I'd blow my motor, plus this is the only car that I have. Thanks again
Make sure you run a compression test on your cylinders beforehand and let us know what you get. Since you do the work on your car, you prob have a good idea of the health of your engine. I know there have been a couple other preludes here with 100K+ miles running the juice. If you have good compression are running a mild shot 50-70hp, I'd say you won't have much to worry about.
I was more paranoid than probably anyone on here when I set mine up and ran it for the 1st time but I was meticulous in following the advice in the stickys and I've never had a single problem with the system (been on the car for 2yrs, im at 70K mi). Plus that first feel of what you've been missing is orgasmic lol!
Yeah, the last time I did a compression test, I was running some pretty low numbers. I've done a valve adjustment since then, but have yet to see what my compression is at now. I've been meaning to do it, I just keep forgetting about it...
^^^How about you **** off, spammer? Would that be an ok thing for you?
I know you're not trying to say I'm a spammer around here I've been around on these boards too damn long to be called a spammer, besides, why are you bumping up this thread? it's fvcking 4 years old The kit has been sold, close this thread, THE END
I have a question about nitrous, does anyone make a nitrous kit just for the prelude? I won't buy a universal kit, I heard they blow up the motor. Will I get hurt if the motor blows up? Is it like like a grenade I see on the movies when it blows up? Will the motor still run if it blows up?
Zex dry kit for the Prelude is probably the safest and easiest to install. Don't even need to drill the intake for the injector...they make a cone filter with the injector built in.

Yes the motor will still run, but you will see some smoke our your exhaust. Thats why I run an exhaust with a large tip... you can't see the smoke as much that way. I've blown my motor 3 times and its still going.

Can I just drill into my fuel injectors and attach the NOS? I don't like the idea of a cone filter squirting in the "geaux jews"
