How do you know if the kit is a dry or wet? Buying used kit...

I'm buying a used kit from a friend... Not sure if it's dry or wet. I want it to be a wet, but if it isn't, what do I need for it to be a wet? Thanks!

if its a zex kit it will be dry, becuase they only make dry kits. If it is a NOS or NX kit there will be 2 soleniods (1 for nitrous and 1 for fuel) for wet kits

Ahhh... Ok. It's a NOS kit, so if there are 2 solenoids its a wet, if only one its a dry?

No, some NOS dry kits come with two nitrous solenoids. Basically, if the kit comes with a fuel noid then it is a wet kit.

How do I know if it comes with a fuel noid? I can go look at it in person whenever I want, so what should I look for to make sure its a wet?

Also, if it's not, how difficult and costly would it be to make it a wet?

look at the fogger nozzle. If it is shaped like a "Y" it is a wet kit.

It has red trim instead of blue and it says "fuel" on it.

Yes dry kits have two, one for vacuum for your FPR

But a wet kit has one that says Fuel on it and it is red I believe!

This and some SS line for the fuel source should do it.
Edit: Or you can get an NOS fuel noid, fogger, SS line, and some jets. If you call NOS they should be able to hook you up as well.

50 shot... I'm thinking its a lot safer to run a wet than dry.... esspecially when i have no fuel upgrades (fuel rail/pressure regulator)...

If anyone thinks it would be safe to run a 50 shot dry on a near stock set-up... let me know...

Actually, its just as safe to run a 50 shot dry as it is for a 50 shot wet. Dry kits work, if they didnt, NOS wouldnt be recommending them for our cars. Wet or Dry, 75shots is the recomended shot on a stock car. Most people here are running dry kits, and the others are Direct Port, which is the best for shots larger than 75. Installed correctly, a dry kit will work just fine. I cant wait till you have your first run, I am running a 60 shot, and when I spray, it feels like I am in a super car. Just to give you an idea of how fast you could be with a dry kit, with a 75 shot, intake, exhaust, header, pulleys, ignition, performance clutch, drag radials, and have it dyno tuned, assuming your a good driver, you would keep up with Firebird TA's. Thats low 13's in the quarter mile. With cams, cam gears, and more tuning, on a miracle day, you might bust out a 12.999. Afterall, I have heard of people pulling off a best ET of 13.4 on a stock Lude with a 75 shot.
