hitting nitrous to early???

Is there a reason they say to hit the nitrous above a certain rpm besides wheel spin? Can it ruin your motor hitting it to early and can someone explain what causes it to ruin your motor if it does hurt it hitting the nitrous to early?

Actually, the reason you dont spray at that low of an rpm is because the intake velocity is too low to adequatly move the fuel and nitrous (on a wet kit). Below 2500 rpms your mixture "puddles" in the intake system and causes what you call "nitrous backfire" aka your intake manifold and such blow right off the car because its ignited in the manifold instead of the cylinder.
