Finally...

Welp fellas today my shop finally got their nitrous in. After about one long grueling month of waitng for nitrous I will finally be able to squeeze on my lude. I will test the nitrous out tommorow and let you guys know what I think. The mods on my 97 ss lude currently consist of the zex plugs and kit ( I will be using the 55 shot btw) w/ an aem cai and greddy evo exhaust. I finally found a racing shop around here that has higher octane gas than 91. They had 110, 112, and 114 octane gases. I told the guy that I only needed 92 octane so he said to get 5 gallons of the 110 octane gas and mix it w/ the normal 91 octane which I have been getting. So I paid the guy 5 bux a gallon for 5 gallons of the 110 octane gas then went and fueled up w/ 91 octane at my local chevron. I assume that my octane gas right now is about 102-104 octane. Is this bad for my car? Has anyone else done this to their car before?

True that man. But I have to retard my ignition for a 65 shot don't I? It says in the zex installation manual to retard the ignition if running a 65 shot. Also, I would need an aftermarket ignition if I was to retard the ignition on a 5th gen Lude wouldn't I?

Yeah. Is it necesary to check the plugs after every single run when using the nitrous or only every so often? It would be a pain to check them all after every single run heh. I can't wait to test this puppy out heh.

You can but I don't think anybody does. I checked mine my first couple of runs and whenever changing shots. I think those are the most important times.

As far as the timing goes with a 65 shot... just run NGK 1 step colder plugs rather than zex... it's cheaper and has the same effect as a small timing retard.

With such high octane you shouldn't detonate on a 65 shot. However, I'd start with the 55 shot and work my way up. Check you plugs for the first run. I've been running really rich, so I quit checking mine until I get back on the dyno with the new jet combo. Check your plugs once a week at least.
