whats up guys... im buildin my block and wonderin if you guys got and recommendations on rods. and im doin je pistons and also wonderin what compression i should do or should i keep at factory comp. im jus runnin nitrous and plannin on keepin it that way... thanks guys...
Id get Crowers if you can afford it, Eagle if you want a good rod for cheap. Both of them can handle alot of power.
As for the pistons, Id go with 10:1 with a 100-125 shot (DP of course) if you want a super nitrous drag car kinda thing, or my favorite 11:1 and a 75-100 shot. The latter gives you good off the bottle performance and a screamer on the juice. Just get big cams to go with it.....(like a stage 2)
Originally posted by LUDE LIKE WHOA i got a 75 shot now and i wanna go with direct port 150 shot. but i aint doin anythin else without pistons and rods...
i had been planning on doing a setup like this on my engine. IMO, if you're thinking that big, dont skimp on the rods.

I am planning the same thing.
Resleeved H22a4 block, mild crank work, eagle rods, CP pistons(~11:1)p&p head with custom cams, built IM with larger TB and nasty DP setup.
Would Crower Stage II even be good for a Nasty NOS setup? Guys on H-T.com say get custom grinds.
I am going to be THE guy that finds out how much NOS a built H22 can handle. What could the number be? 175? 200? 250?
I am very curious to find out..............
If you want a 150 shot dont go over 10:1 CR. 10:1 is almost pushing it, but you could make it fly. Just get a Maximizer for sure to keep you system under control, it will need it.
Yeah, the maximizer is the NX progressive controller. But IMO it the best because it monitors everything nitrous related, bottle pressure, temperature, flow, ignition stuff, you know, it rocks.
