I just rejetted for an NX 75 shot, probably sprayed 6 times in the last week on it. I'm running 1 step colder plugs and pulling 5 degrees out of the timing and don't have any signs of detonation

You should be fine on the stock internals with up to a 75 shot. I've even heard of people running a 100 shot jetting on the stock Prelude internals. I wouldn't chance that much though. Just get colder plugs and retard the timing and I think you should be okay.

If the truth be known an NX 75 shot is probably comparable to a NOS 100-110 horse shot. I wouldn't squeeze much more than 75 whp on stock internals/fuel system, you are just asking for trouble.

wow. Randy, I would assume you're no longer thinking of this?

There is a strong possibility that Randy can now be added to the list of those with engine issues due to nitrous. He showed up at the MD prelude club meet yesterday on 2 cylinders. He was running a NX 50 shot on stock plugs with stock timing. Upon inspection of the plugs, #2 was melted completely, and #4 was covered in oil.

Good luck Randy.

NGK BKR7E are 1 step colder than stock. Have you ran a compression test on your motor yet? Sounds like you detonated the end of the plugs off and might have damaged the pistons (possibly started to put a hole through the center). Either way get it checked out before sprayin again.

Did you check everything when you first installed your kit(ie. look at the plugs for detonation, wideband O2 sensor, etc.)?

only had it on the car for 2 days.. I had plans to check the plugs when I got home from the meet but lol. (Im not gonna lye tho I did spray a bottle full throw it the first night I had it... kinda like a crack head that hadnt had a fix in a long time lol)

I think after a long day of thinkin Ive figuredout most of my problems and what may have caused it. First off it didnt help to have the copper ZFR5F-11 plugs in there, but also when I was jumping on the highway to come down to the meet I got tired of vtec taking so long to kick in from where I was use to it being set at (4800 on my vafc) so I decided to take it from the freshly reset set up of 5200 down to 5000 without thinkin about it. Im sure I throw the fuel map off alil there and that may have causes some problems. Also the bottle was only filled with 6lbs. the first time.. and when I had it refilled the day that it blew it was filled to 10lbs. so thats defentally alot more pressure.

well anyways I went out today lookin for some colder plug and all I could find were the sameones that I had in the car to begin with so I picked them up just to see if I was gonna get off easy and maybe I didnt hurt anything internaly (just no bottle till everythings taken care of), but cars still running the same as it was before..... well I guess all thats left is to do a compression check and cry all the way to the bank lol.... live and learn... ohhh well

You'll be alright man. Nothing you can't cure in your dad's shop.

You'll be quite lucky if the valves are burnt but there is no damage in the combustion chamber or on the pistons.

**** dude that sucks. I'm running a ZEX dry kit jetted to a 75 shot, and I'm just running one step colder copper plugs (BKR7E's) with no timing retard. Had the kit for 3 months, gone through 3 bottles, and I still pull 230 PSI all accross the board.

If you had/have ZFR5F-11's, then that's actually one step HOTTER than stock. Definately explains what happened...
