Yay. I Got Boost

Well not on the car yet.

But I just picked up the following for $2200.

Greddy Turbo Kit

- for 5th gen ludes
- complete kit
- includes Greddy type 24r front mount intercooler
- Greddy type s blow off valve
- Greddy turbo timer
- Fluidyne radiator with slim fan
- Greddy fmu (piggyback computer)

- less than 5,000 kms on this.

Can't wait to get it on the car.

So the following is of concern.

1) With the 24r FMIC will I have any chance in keeping my JDM fogs?
2) The kit doesn't come with the emanage. Just the piggy back. He had a 99 and said it was running great. Anyone try this on a 99+ with the blue piggyback alone?

Get an E-manage or something programmable. The blue box does not do anything for ingition timing. I've seen 5th gens with the blue box detonate on the dyno at 5k rpm, right where the stock computer advances igntioning timing 4 degrees for vtec. Now, this was on 91 octane, so if you have access to 93-94 octane at the pump, maybe it won't be an issue for you.

Wow, good job. I think you will really enjoy this.

I second shark's reccomendation to get an emanage or e-manage ultimate. If you want to keep your car running on a stock block, they are really necessary.

I have seen used emanages go for $250-300 on Ebay and Honda-Tech. I would go for one of those if you can.

Kosta you bought the kit off Derek? Like everyone says get the E-manage or some other form of engine management instead of using the Greddy bluebox. I think Derek's motor was built, so he probably wouldn't have noticed the detonation to much and his car was a show car so I am guessing that's why there weren't many km's on the kit. I've been helping Scott aka Lude Awakening (TPC)with his build, if you need any help, let me know.

Really??? I remember his car was featured in HCI Magazine with that kit and the mag said that his motor had forged pistons, which could only mean one thing...his bottom end was built. You might want to clarify that with him. I'll try to dig up the issue of HCI, I know I have it somewhere.

Ya think if I went with a Mugen front end I would gain some clearance?

Well if that's what he said, but I find it shady that he said one thing, while the magazine article said another. Good luck with the build man and ditch the Greddy bluebox fmu

Hmmm...looks like it would have more room than stock, but I'm just speculating. I just remember seeing Mark's infamous red-piping. Will have to make one of the frappe meets to see this beast when its done.

Edit: found these

So I guess we need to find out if the Mugen bumper will give you any additional space.

Can't see the links for some reason.

Well I saw the kit on Dereks car. There is no way the JDM's would fit. I was hoping the mugen sits lower and more out and with some tricky moves I could get them to fit.

Its for a stock motor, 370cc injectors and the stock greddy kit. If you are interested let me know. It will save you a LOT of money and dyno time. Plus its done by one of the best AEM tuners in the world.
