My car blew up on the dyno with 10lbs of boost at 270 whp built head stock block. Shop fixed it though free of charge. Then blew a second time.8 lbs at 230whp running rich. built head with iron sleeves stock pistons and rings. Rings blew out some piston damage, sleeves were perfect. I had about 8 kmiles on the motor. I had to take the turbo kit off and now I'm awaiting my next project, H22 turbo civic hatch.I cant wait.

I think 3K was the requirement...I need to "reapply" if such a thing is possible, 12.5K _hard_ miles on my current setup with 15psi and no problems.

Add a 5th gen with JRSC to the blown list... blew way back, when the car was at 6 psi, ovaled out the cylinders and all. Let's just say it was a "forced" extended period of time in boost, at extremely high speeds. Can't really blame it on the engine... :-D

Back together on a stock motor for 20K miles or so, now it's 10 psi and liquid injected. Last time it was apart around two thousand miles ago, it looked perfect.

are we still keeping this list up to date? Blew my motor a year ago running 6psi, ringlands + oil sending problems, so it was basically a lot of pressure with lack of lubrication...

I'm now in the good with over 7k miles on my new setup,
6psi/JR EMS/JR FMU/Stock injectors/VAFC

do i get to be on both lists? lol

here's my update.....
Finally got some dyno tuning in at Church automotive, car had some issues at 1st, ended up being spark plugs(they got changed without me knowing) put down 231.6WHP 239.9TQ @8psi. then a few days later i noticed some burning oil smell.... blowbye going on, car dies, compression check 2 weeks b4 was 180 across, now its reading 150 125 155 80.... car should be completely apart this week, im assuming the standard broken ring lands. Hey other people that have cracked ring lands, did u just have to replace the pistons? or the block?
here's my updated set up
built head
aem cam gears
vortec 12:1 fmu
rc 440cc injectors
apex S AFC
action 6 puck clutch w/ heavy duty pressure plate
NGK iridium 6 plugs
stock plug wires
Drag gen 4 turbo kit
manual boost controller
2.5inch catback piping

well your options now are to either go back with new stock pistons or type S pistons or get sleeved and run forged pistons... depends on how much you want to spend.... although a lot of people dont recommend doing it, you can get sleeve liners (darton) and run forged pistons, it'll be cheaper than getting fully resleeved if you're short on cash.

Remember, if you go back with OEM pistons, you risk cracking the ringlands again and again....

btw, i went with sleeve liners and forged pistons, replaced rods and valves too while the engine was apart... I know a prelude making 600+whp on the liners.. maybe he's just lucky....

ok......i didn't blow the stock motor after 10,000 very hard driven/overboosted miles......but i went ahead and got a sleeved block with 9:1 cp pistons now. 377whp, 333wtq tuned @ 20psi on 2.25" exhaust with a 60-1........but now i have a 3" exhaust and SC61, so i'll retune soon with a little more boost and should make mid 400's if the stock ignition will let me.

9psi jrsc 70k miles not blown.

This weekend I removed my jrsc setup to pass California smog. I guess that officially puts me in the not blown list. I'm still deciding whether to reinstall everything or just be thankful for having had the setup for so many uneventful miles.

Installed on 97 SH. The car currently has 95k miles. Even compression all cyls.

My (old) setup.

JRSC w/ 9psi pulley
Cartech FMU
RC 440 cc injectors
J&S Safeguard v2
Hondata Gasket
VAFC Hack
DC Headers (wrapped)
High Flow cat
Jackson Racing Oil Cooler
