this might be a dumb question, but what is the difference between long block and short block and how do i know which i have?

A short block is the portion of the engine block below the head gasket but above the oil pan

a long block is everything.

im talking with the guys that are making my shortblock for me, im going to buy the big things first thats why its taking me so long

Why the hell would you run a 42r on a street car? The 35r is too big for the street. A 2.2L doesn't have the output to effectively drive the 35. I would run the 30 but not the 35. The 30/40r is a hybrid so its a great bet. Why don't you take that extra $$ and put it into a tune so you can have better driveability and just as much power. Bigger isn't always better. I hit 330whp on a 50 trim T3/4 .63 for christs sake.

well my shortblock is a 2.5L im not sure if that makes much of a difference.
