What turbo do I have??

A friend of mine has a Garrett turbo He will sell me for almost nothing. He used to have it on his Integra but pulled it for one that would run 20+ lbs of boost. this is what I can see:

On the compressor side it has "A/R 60 Garrett Air Research T04" stamped on it. Th diameter of the visable part of the compressor wheel is about 43mm. The outlet of the compressor also has a "60" stamped in it.

The exhaust side has "A/R 48" and "DH3" stamped on it and visable part of the turbine wheel is about 50mm.

The center section is non-water cooled and appears to be non-ball bearing.


My plan was to put this on my Prelude running no more than 8psi of boost. He is selling me the turbo and a 25"X6" intercooler for $200.

A little Google research says it is probably this:

Garrett T3/TO4E 50 Trim

Product Information
Compressor Specs:
-50 trim compressor wheel
-0.60AR compressor housing
- Flow Rate 46lb/min

Turbine Specifications:
-Stage 3 turbine wheel
-0.48A/R or 0.63A/R. turbine housing
-4 bolt standard turbine discharge

CHRA Specifications:
-270 degree thrust bearing standard (360 option).
-Oil cooled&lubricated center section.

Still not sure if it is what I need.

8 psi? isnt that atmosphere?

why boost? why not do something for traction instead of buying a used turbo.....I dont care how well you know your friend, a used turbo is a deathbed bet.

and the fact you dont know exactly what it is.....

how are you going to control boost? EBCS? MBC? EWG?

What manifold will you have built?

will the IC fit the front of the car? Will it still allow you to keep the front bumper beam?

If not, will you notch? The DC2 and the BB6 are different if you dont know.....yeah, Im heavy on the sarcasm on that if you cant read between the lines.
