Open loop is just having the wastegate outlet venting to the atmosphere.

Closed loop is having the wastegate outlet routed back into the downpipe. You lose hp with a closed loop system because of the wastegate exhaust gases interfering with the exhaust gases coming out the the turbo through the downpipe.

I run open loop on the street, it isn't that loud, just sounds like like a jet engine when the wastegate starts to open.

just make sure to make a pipe to direct the exhaust gasses from the wastegate away from the bay. most people just leave the one end of the gate open into the bay.

parts such as alternators, ac compressors, etc. will go quicker.

Converting to open wastegate on the F-Max kit is difficult. The dump tube is short and close to the downpipe. You would need to cut the slip joint off of the downpipe and weld a plate over it to close it off, then make a dump tube for the wastegate that goes around the downpipe and down under the engine.
