What electronic boost controller is everyone using? - Honda Prelude Forum

I'd like to know what is the best and most user friendly electronic boost controller on the market...and what are your experiences w/ the different ones out there.

Go with Blitz. Either Dual-SBC for around $500...or the iD-SBC for probably $100 more. Also Greddy Profec series...doesn't look too great though. Don't ever go Apexi even though it looks tight as hell...they have boost spikes sometimes. Don't know anything about HKS EVC. I'd go with Blitz.

i've heard the greddy profec-b is a good one for money (around $300), for myself i am still using a manual boost controller.

I'm happy with my A'PEXi AVC-R. It takes awhile to learn all the nice functions but once you get the hang of it, you'll find it very flexible.

Well I just knew some people's cars that blew because of a boost spike. Out of no where, the boost controller doesn't control the boost and just lets it go too high. I'm sure its probably 1 out of 9283740289374089712345 but thats just what I've heard.

I'm pretty happy with my Blitz D-SBC. It has been good to me on my previous ride (mitsu GST), and has been working great on my Lude thus far. I might add that the GReddy Profec B is a decent unit, so is the Apexi AVCR, and the HKS EV. The main thing to consider is how much you have to spend, and how user friendly you want it to be. My previous Blitz SBC was user friendly, but you turn the knob then watch the boost to get to the optimum setting that you desire, turn it too far then you can reach the maximum 1.5 bar that the controller can safely control up too. But before you reach that your motor might let go!
