Water Cooled Turbo Coolant feed/return lines

Hey everyone,

Just got a Turbonetics kit for my 01 and unexpectedly it came with a water cooled bearing section. I'm glad it is water cooled, by I have no idea where to tap the coolant system.

I searched and found a few references to people installing water cooled turbos, but none said where to tap the coolant system.

Can someone provide some insight on this please..

Thanks In Advance!
-Scott

No one? I was thinking about the lines to the heater core, but I would imaging those aren't the best as I'm guessing they are on the hot side of the system.

Suggestions or ideas please!

Hey man, i faced this problem as well, i cant take pictures right now but i can get you some tonight. The heater core is the right choice and it is super easy to do. Once the coolant starts to flow the "hot side" wont matter because it will always be cooler than your turbo, also the heater core coolant constantly flows, if you tap into the throttle body or thermostat houseing you wont get constant flow due to idle valves and the thermostat openin and closing. Ill post pics tonight of what i did, you just need 2 brass t's that you can buy from lowe's that match the diameter of the hose you are using, about 8 or 9 feet of hosing from autozone, and 6 of those screw type hose clamps.

here are the pics, i tapped the heater core line on the left side of the engine close to where the battery is and behind the intake manifold, as long as you tap on each side of the heater core you should be fine, its hard to see the tap on the back side of the engine because i couldnt get the camera in there. Hope it helps

Behind the intake manifold, top hose

Battery side of engine

The hose that i used on battery side
