You also blew your engine using a stock turbo kit. Owning a performance shop is no qualification. Grow up, and don't be so serious.

You asked for evidence and I gave it to you. All I've heard are complaints with Total Seal rings. A local guy who runs a turbo b16a here told me he tried to run them but they cracked and the sealing pieces that are supposed to be offset on one of the pistons circled to match up. The main engine rebuilder for performance Honda's here in Toronto doesn't recommend them.

If you're replacing stock rings, replace them with new stock rings. If you're getting forged pistons replace them with the rings the piston manufacturer recommends. That's my recommendation based on the experience of people I've talked to.

I agree with you on the OEM rings, I havent' had any complaints with Total Seal rings on oversized pistons though, my recommendation to anyone is call your local tuner and get their advice since they have repeated experience with items like that. Every one has their own opinion and is entitled to it.

The understanding that I have from the machine shop was that they don't seem to work that well on higher reving engines, but work fine on lower reving engine, so they don't recommend them for their Honda buildups. The only complaints I've heard are from Honda guys, but I don't really hang out with the domestic performance guys.

That's interesting, cuz we have 3 Turbo Preludes all running Total Seal rings and have had no problems.

Try the parts dept. at any Honda dealership.
