Turbo Questions

Alright, now if someone is going to ***** because this is not a prelude question, go to the upper left part of your screen, and press back. I own a prelude and make posts concerning preludes on this site also, just a question for people who know their turbos.

So I bought a 1992 Pontiac Grand Prix SE coupe for $400, which was an absolute steal for the condition its in. So I took the initiative to cut the top off and make myself a convertible, I cut the exhaust off at the cat, and this coming up week will be routing a dual side exhaust. What I want to do is purchase a used turbo off any car from ebay, which you can find for $30-80 for just the turbo. So the Grand Prix has a 3100 V6 in it and I do not want to mess with welding up a turbo manifold as the firewall side cylinder bank header is a ***** to get off because its crammed right up to the firewall. So can I just put the turbo directly into the pipe after the Y pipe? I don't know if this is a problem because of less heat and possibly less pressure to get the turbo spooling. Also if you were to do this, what would you be sure to do? Also does anybody have any suggestions on some form of a wastegate/boost controller kind of deal to limit the boost to 3-6 psi without actually buying them?

Now I'm expecting to run into alot of negative comments on this but believe it or not, this car has mad balls off the line and seriously lacks in the top end. No I do not think this car is better than yours I simply want a little advice. Thanks

I don't have any advice, but I'd love to see some pics of the top cut off...
