you cant be serious ... there were no close up pictures, no brands listed and everything was titled "JDM Sport". If they were using quality stuff they would list it.

is there anything you can rec. This is something new for me and i dont want to go out and buy a 3000 kit. For sure i want a hondata s300. And all i want to do is push 8psi, not looking for something furious. If you can be educational instead of hating i would appreciate it.

If all you have to spend is $3k, then you are boned. A reliable turbo setup costs more than $5k, and that's if you piece it all together yourself and do all your own labor.

less than 3K?! Impossible.
Can you do all the labor along with the welding, pipe bending and tuning? Do you have another car to drive or is this your only one?
If you want to spend pocket change on a turbo setup prepare for some hard times down the road. If, despite all of our advice you want to go cheap, my recomendation for you is to pick up a used kit from some one. You can probably find one of some ricer who blew his motor for $2000-$2500.
Actually yes, I am a welder and been doing it for 3 years. Also i am a mechanic and live walking distance from work. Im just looking for help. Would it be better going with a bolt on kit or just finding the parts myself and doing research on all of it. Im just looking for advice

You keep asking for advice. You need to read all the stuff I and other experienced people have already written. I hate repeating myself 1000 times. It's not like we hide this information or make it hard to read either - show some resourcefulness.
Even if you are God with a welder, there is no possible way to get a quality turbo setup for $3k. The individual parts alone cost more than that, even if all labor and fabrication are free.

When i was a knewb with this, i truly never believed you guys that a turbo setup would cost an excess of 5k, but im in the middle of my build now and i now to believe you guys!
so 01luda... Listen to these guys because they know their $hit! and do not take the cheap way out because then you will spend more fixing your motor then you would just building a reliable setup...
If you are going to do the labor/welding yourself then you should DEFINATELY piece a setup together.
If it were me and I wanted to keep in even close to the 3K range I would do this:
Hondata or Chrome with harness: $600-$800
T3/T4 .63 ar 60 trim: $600-$700
HKS SSQV - $200
RevHard Manifold: $450
RC 550cc injectors: $200
walbro fuel pump: $140
Spearco intercooler: $200-$400
piping (6ft straight and 4 U's): $100
Clamps/connectors/vac hose/oil supply: $300
TOTAL: $3290
Thats the closest I can possibly get it to 3K and that is without a tune. A tune will run you another $500-$1K.
That setup should yeild around 260 WHP. Is that what you were looking for?

You don't even have the following:
* downpipe
* dump tube
* wastegate
* tune (you said that one)
That stuff doesn't even include stuff I would consider important also, like a Wideband O2, boost gauge, wider wheels for traction.

Yep and you have to add another clutch in there too because the stock one isn't going to last very long at those power levels. There is a saying 01luda and it goes something like this

Thank you, I knew I ran through it way too quick.
DP piping and flange: with you doing all the custom welding (I hope you have a compression or mandrel bender) $200 ($600 if some one does it for you)
Dump tube: included in the pricing above
Tial Wastegate: $150
boost gauge: $100
oil pressure/EGT: $100
wideband O2: $250-$300
Just jumped to around $3940 ... without a tune and you doing all the work.
Edit: proeliator38 - thats a funny link. Does it actually work? The more clicks the more is "revealed"? haha LOL
