Turbo an H22A4 5th gen

Ive heard that boosting this motor is a bad idea unless you get a girdle? due to the fact that the A4 will blow after roughly 10-12k miles? Is this true? I've got a 99 with 75k miles. Am I safe or no?

stock motors have weak ringlands, running F/I will work in the short term, but eventually the motor will give out. Sleeving is the proper way to run any reasonable amount of boost
