turbo? Experiences?

Hey I was at a garage today and I seen a turbo for my engine (h22) and they charge 5000, for 80 horses.. has anyone done this mod? do you find it worth it?

he also told me for 2000 extra theyll forge everything which then i could give myself more boost.. if you do it shouldnt you go all out?

anyways just looking for your opinions/experiences

thanks

This would almost be a case of too much money, not alot of brain.

Go to the Forced Induction forums and SEARCH, don't post this again, just search and you will see the light.

i'll make you a deal... gimme $4500 and i'll put your turbo on for ya. All it takes a couple welds right to the intake manifold and you're on your way.

On a more serious note. You need to spend hours upon hours of researching. You cant just go and put a turbo on and expect 80 hp right off the bat and expect everything to run 100% perfect. As peter said, you need to study and educate yourself in the F/I forum.

you dont have to scratch it, just do alot of research and do it right the first time. Shortcuts are never a good idea when building a car.
