Yeah, I know how the E-manage works, but I just asked because I was reading Synapses site as to why volt clamping is not the most effective way to avoid throwing codes and prevent the MAP sensor from seeing the boost. They basically say that :
(1) the electronic method of voltage clamping still stresses the MAP sensor by applying boost pressure to the sensitive diaphram of the sensor.
(2) With voltage clamping, the voltage or corresponding atmospheric pressure that the ecu sees, is a fixed value irresspective to changes in barometric pressure for the same elevation or changes in barometric pressure as a function of changes in elevation. Resulting in inconsistent performance and a system that does adjust to changes.
I was thinking of getting a missing link only because I threw a CEL related to barometric pressure a week ago, and thought that it could be related to my MAP sensor and E-manage. Maybe I'm wrong, but that's why I'm asking these questions.
