supercharger mods

I am planning on doing a JRSC on my 5g lude soon. I was wondering if I could do all the mods that a JRSC would neeed before I actually get it? I want to get bigger injectors, oil cooler, get all the gauges setup and working, colder spark plugs, etc. Would it be ok if I did all tha with outthe JRSC in my car?

There is no problem with doing all of that first, although I would suggest waiting to install the injectors along with the JRSC. That way, you would not need to worry about controlling the injectors to keep it running like stock before the JRSC is installed. Also, during the JRSC installation you get easy access to the fuel rail, so removing the fuel rail and throwing in new injectors is easy at that point. I would also suggest waiting on installing the colder plugs until you install the JRSC. It only takes 10 minutes to install spark plugs.

What size injectors are you going to run, and what are you planning to use to control the injectors? Anything electronic might feasibly also be installed before the JRSC is installed. Even the JR EMS can be installed beforehand, because without positive manifold pressure it does nothing.

actually, that's not true. it *will* spoof the IAT signal based on throttle position, causing advanced timing and richening of the mix, and more importantly, it will also spoof the map signal at part throttle, causing you to run lean and eventually throw the "too lean" code. it does that to compensate for the high fuel pressures of the base JR kit.

Thanks for correcting that, schwett, I didn't know that. I thought that the EMS only did those things when boost pressure was present.
