dont flame me to bad guys. just wondering what you all think. i have been asking around and keep getting mixed answers. i either want to supercharge or turbo my 99 lude. what would be the best choice?
What are your goals... how much do you have to spend... how often do you drive the car. These are all things that you should take into consideration before making up your mind.
If you just want a daily driver with around 200-230whp and want to spend around 4k then I would say go with the Supercharger.
If you want anything more than that then go with a turbo. It is easier to increase the boost and you can get around 300whp with a good setup and tune.
and to let you know, boost is addictive. I went with the SC route thinking that all I wanted was a little more for daily driving and now I cant get enough... I stuck with the SC just to be different but turbo would have been cheaper and easier to make my power goals.

yea i want turbo now. im gonna rebuild the engine and want a good setup. money wont be a problem. i just need a rough estimate. i heard greddy is good, and some cheapie ebay kits but no controller but, i still dont wanna waste money on junk. whats the best route to go? and another thing how much shorter is the life of a boosted engine?

do not buy greddy. that crap is worthless. piece together a custom kit. if you are too lazy get the turbonetics kit. Personally, I would do a custom kit

Being that turbo works on air from exhaust, wouldn't it perform better in hot weather? Or is that just crazy thinking?
It's not air but oxygen content of the air that combusts and of course colder air contains more oxygen molecules. The concept is simple; more oxygen and more fuel to create a bigger bang. How you do it is the tricky part .
