I've been researching a custom setup, and I've come across some pretty cheap MKIV used turbos. I am thinking that these are too big for our cars, but I'm not sure. I am scouring the net looking for stock specs on these, but I'm drawing blanks. I am also looking at other cheaper turbos (Eclipse, T-Bird, Saab, Volvo), but this looks intriguing.
Thanks everyone

It's possible, but only if you use the CT26 turbo and not the larger one. If you can get this one for a really good price (same on they use on MR2's as well) you can get decent power levels out of it if you modify it a little. Though if you're getting it new, I'd look into other turbos.

I have a CT26 turbo. It's about the same size as the one I have in my lude but I did not find many specs as of now.
I think it would make a very good turbocharger for the lude, notably because it's water cooled as well. I'm not to sure if I should keep it a a spare for myself or sell it. It's like a new one.
Any offer???

Thanks, I've been seeing them go for anything from $150-$500, so you are right in the middle. If I do go turbo, I will want to get it rebuilt by a reputable company, so will it matter what shape it's in?
I still have a lot of research to do, so I'll be spending the workday tommorrow scouring the F.I. forums.

I have used a ct26 from an mk3 supra and I don't recommend it at all. I had a horrific time trying to spool that thing and in the end, my engine just didn't generate enough of a load to spool it. The most psi that I was able to generate was around 3. I did a ghetto style setup however, but nonetheless, coming off of a 3 liter inline 6 is a hell of a lot bigger than a 2.2 vtec! Here's a pic however!
Thanks for the update! First time I see the turbo installed with the compressor on the driver side! AHAH! It doesn't look any more ghetto than my own setup though!!
I was hoping this CT26 to work on a lude because it's very similar to the one I have in my lude. I guess the trim (which I did not succeed to find out the values) is more aggressive, making the impellers harder to spin...

Yah, it was a bit different!! haha. That damn thing was just way too inefficient. You should be able to get some decent coin for that turbo. I ended up trading mine for a t3 with an ar of .60 so this should spool a hell of a lot quicker. I just need to make new charge pipes and a new downpipe and I should be set to go.
As I said before the CT26 is the single turbo off the MR2 3S-GTE engine which is a 2.0 L engine so I really don't see why (unless honda engines exhaust speeds are THAT slow) you would have a problem spooling this turbo the 2.2L engine.

That turbo should be a better choice in comparison to the ct-26 from the supra. I should have gone with the one from the mr2 but I got a good deal on the one from the supra and it was a bad choice on my part. Yes, the h22a should spool the ct26 from the mr2 I have no argument with you on that one and I do think this turbo is a much bette choice than the one that I initially chose.

A Toyota CT-26 is a CT-26. MR2 and the Supra turbo are exactly the same, same trim, same everything. I wouldn't even want to believe how insanely rich Toyota would be if they started making different specifications for each individual turbo.
