Ok, I am a nitrous guy, but since you guys seem to have more experience with ringlands breaking, I thought I would ask what that is? Why do you think it is that nitrous guys arent having problems with ringlands? When ringlands break using boost, is it usually from detonation? Since boost does force more air into the cylinder, it puts more pressure on the piston during compression, but dont know if that has anything to do with it either. So, whats the deal. Theres a guy running 125shots for 2 years on a stock bottom end with no problems. Whats the deal?

Thats what I thought, but wasnt sure. I am sure if we were spraying 125-150shots on a stock bottom end, it could be a problem, but so far we seem to be lucky.

the amount of time under stress undoubtedly has a lot to do with it. if the average nitrous user ran through as much "power" as a turbo or jrsc guy does in a month, they'd have spent a thousand bucks on bottles.
so combine low intake temperatures with extremely infrequent use...
Yup, thats true to. I know I havent sprayed in almost a month. I suppose it could be the combination of things, but when boosted ringlands go, isnt detonation usually involved at the time of kaboom? Most of you boosted Ludes problably boost daily.

I suppose boost for a year could kill them. If you figure that the stress level on the piston, just during the compression cycle is much higher than normal, being that its trying to compress alot more air than before. Not to mention the added stress from the actual HP gained by buning more fuel. I think I got a good theory going, but like previously stated, no one knows exactly why their engine went pop.
