hey guys what's goin on. I'm new here, just bought a 97 prelude. took the motor apart a couple days ago and i need some insight. i hope this thread is in the right section, if it's not i apologize.
the previous owner had a turbo setup with forged internals (eagle rods, JE pistons, and darton dry sleeves) i do not know if the machine shop that did the sleeves did them incorrectly or what. the number 2 cylinder sleeve is very distorted as if it was overheated or something(had extreme blowby, mostly the reason why i took it apart in the first place, also it had coolant in the oil which is weird because a head gasket was done on it not too long ago.)
anyway, i called my machine shop to see if they can resleeve that one cylinder with a new darton sleeve so i can use my existing pistons and they said they can do that. the only thing that concerns me is these tiny cracks or separations between every sleeve. i am not sure if its a product of resleeving or if maybe it cracked due to overheating? here is a magnified picture, i am talking about the tiny horizontal crack in the aluminum right in the middle. what do you guys think????
