I have a 99 SH and I bought JRSC recently and have a shop install it for me. The shop have tons of problems installing it.
Here are my questions"
Does the AEM CAI has to go? because the shop took it out.
When my car is in idle, it revs between 1k to 2k constantly, it is annoying as hell?
The check engine light and ATTS light are on, how do you fix it?
Is there anyway to make the exhaust more quiet? I have a Thermal R&D 2.25 I think.

Thx
Sorry to hear that you are having trouble.
The AEM CAI can be used with the JRSC, but will have to be modified (cut) to fit properly, as the throttle body is repositioned with the installation.
Your idle problem may be caused by one or more incorrectly installed vacuum lines. Make sure all of the vacuum line connections are correct. Also make sure that the JR ems has been wired correctly and that the vacuum line running to it has been connected and secured.
The first step in fixing a problem that has thrown malfunction lights is to find out what code(s) is being thrown. The ATTS light should not be coming on unless it is receiving a boost signal from the map sensor, which would be indicative of the EMS not being installed correctly. If this is the case, it would explain why your car is throwing codes both for the engine and the ATTS. But this is just speculation. Definitely find out what the engine ecu and the ATTS ems are trying to tell you.
Exhaust is louder with a JRSC. The only way to fix this is to get a quieter exhaust.

I have had that problem before after mine was installed. Mine also revved at 1 to 2 k constantly up and down. In my case there was a boost leak due to throttle body gasket being shred. After that was replaced and retightened the problme went away.
But I still get code 14 though every 3 to 4 days or so...
Don't worry about the atts light, the check engine light is your problem. As far as the idling problem I would bet a good sum of money it's a vaccume leak and it's either from the throttle body or the jr manifold itself. Go in there with some carb cleaner, or starter fluid, and spray it around. When the engine revs up and stays there, you are spraying on where it is leaking. Then all you need to do is replace the gasket or hose.

Someone at the shop said that if I buy V-AFC than the idle problem would go away. They said that fuel is constantly deliver even in idle so that my engine will not blow up. They said Jackson Racing design it that way. I have no idea if it is true.
the fuel pressure at idle is very high with the JRSC kit. this is because of the fuel pump, which overwhelms the ability of the stock FPR to "return" fuel.
now, if nobody had done anything about this, you'd have a very rich idle. but the guys at JR are not totally retarded, so they designed the prelude EMS to lower the MAP signal a LOT at idle; this causes the stock computer to hold the injectors open for a lot less time. this is exactly what they'd be doing with the VAFC; the difference is that the VAFC is adjustable and the EMS is not.
if your idle is fluctuating a LOT, it's not a fueling problem. fueling problems at idle usually mean the motor stalls out or soundsl ike it's realllllly struggling because it's running so rich or so lean. do you have an a/f gauge or fuel pressure gauge? you should have both, as they will help you verify what the real problem is should it be fuel related. a boost gauge will tell you if it's a vacuum leak.
i'm still betting the idle issue is a vacuum problem.

At idle, the fuel gauge is more toward lead but not all the way. When I accelerate, the gauge shows that the fuel is rich all the way. At idle, the boost gauge is at 18 In. Hg. It doesn't look like there is a leak because the boost gauge is stable at idle. I am thinking another shop too but I hate to pay more than I should.
