this probably sounds REALLY stupid...

but ive realized that hondata was not a good choice for me, seeing as how the nearest dealer/stage 4 user is over 300 miles away in opposite directions...

so.... i need some good suggestions on what to do. i know many of you have tole me a few things but i still dont understand them...

AEM is too expensive/complicated
E-manage seems like too much of a hassle
Hondata is of course... out the window...

now this is the REALLY dumb question that i KNOW i should know the answer to...

do i need one?

it seems like there would be something else...

and im sure i cant leave the stock ecu can i?

ok im embarassed right now

Are you going to install everything yourself and tune it? If your bring it to a shop to do the work then you don't need to care how far the nearest person with a hondata is. How much boost you planning to run? What are he other things you got for fuel management? What's your setup?

well im at work, but ill try to remember everything important...

fmax manifold, ic, ic piping, dp
t3/t4e
greddy profec (a or b, still havent decided)
new plugs
bigger injectors (still deciding how big to go, im thinking around 500cc)
maybe an upgraded pump...
and all the little stuff...
need anything else?
am i missing anything?

im planning on running around 7-9 first then after i get everything situated, upgrade internals and try to make 10-12

Well kits don't come with a stand alone, but they do have some sort of fuel management to prevent detenation. Seeing that you are planning on running higher boost then what the these kits come with I suggest a stand alone. The most popular stand alones I know of are the AEM EMS and Hondata. The Greddy e-management however is not a standalone, rather a piggy back system. Are you going to be doing the install and tuning?

but still, is there anything else (standalone)? because i know i need a fuel system, but the local shops here dont know anything and like i said, the nearest dealers that really know what theyre doing are about 300+ miles away.

What are you running?
