Pre-Build Questions..Cams-Tuning-etc

Im planning on atleast 20 psi for my turbo build. I already have the block taken care of. I just dont know what Brands to use on my head. Crower or Skunk2? In research i read Skunk2 stg 2 turbo cams are only good for aroung 10 psi?

What head components do you suggest?

And tuning.. a shop TURBOTRIX in NJ has agreed to tune my lude
(they usually only work on evos and stis) but they refuse to tune using hondata. So with them i know the job will be done right, but ill be paying an extra 1k for the aem ems when i could just use hondata at a some diferent tuner.

What should i do guys?

While building the head isnt a bad thing, there's other places to spend your money to get more power.

Also, going with the AEM isn't bad considering Hondata only supports up to 1000cc injectors. If you're going to be pushing 20lbs, you're gonna need bigger than that.

Just do your research and make sure you find the perfect parts. I will give you a tip though, I know crower cams used to have a bad rep for snapping but I think they have remedied the problem by making them harder.

Crower had a bad batch back in the day. That was remidied. I agree with rayslude, there are a lot better ways to spend the money for power as compared to headwork. The max I would do would be the blacktraxx springs, guides and retainers and a mild port and polish. Cams, eh, im not sure how big of a difference they would make as you can mess with timing with your ECU and a pound of boost makes up that difference.

I would hold off on turbo cams. I haven't seen any of them really convince me they are worth it. Stockers do pretty well for FI.

I would personally recommend Neptune for EMS. Awesome configuration and driveability. For a Honda, I would prefer it over the AEM. Neptune is only available through dealers, so you may have to visit their site and ask who the closest dealer is to where you live.

The head is totally independent of boost. No relationship.

Head gasket is different. Most people even with large builds use OEM.

I say do a port and polish and skip cams and just up the boost.

Are you sure that Hondata only supports up to 1000cc injectors? I have never heard of that, and I really hope that is not the case since I have a s300 and 1600cc injectors... and yes I know 1600cc is waaaayy overkill, but I did not do enough research at the time I bought my injectors
