Part throttle tuning

Right now i have it tuned for like 11.5-12.0AFR when under boost. Should i shoot for 14.7 when under boost at part throttle? i assume it would not be good to do that but, opinions?

Under boost regardless if you are part throttle or not, tune for the same 11.5-11.8ish AFR..

are you using CROME/Uberdata?

I wouldn't go lower than 12.5:1 under boost. 11.5 - 12.0:1 should be fine.

Qveon,

reduce that gap on your plugs. I'd run 0.035 at 6psi. And why are you running 2 steps colder??? All you'll do if foul them sooner... I like the 9002 champion iridium plug. I found it to be much better than a 7 heat range NGK copper. The ceramic looks much cleaner on the champion iridium vs ZFR7F-11 NGK. I run it at a .032 gap for 10 psi. just my .02 cents

Nice setup! I have the same wideband, pretty nice, and I have a similar laptop lol, win98se 333 celeron or so, and 96 mb sdram haha.. and even worse the battery is bad so I have to use a power inverter in the car..

me = Gh3tt0!

Shouldn't you gap the plugs closer to lower .3's?

You are like my long lost brother. cause my lappy battery is also dead and i too use an inverter. funny ****!

Now explain why i should go with a smaller gap? Doesn't smaller gap create more of a chance for detonation? I went with 2 steps colder so i wouldn't have to pull as much timing. Because timing is where you make your power.

Using colder plugs helps prevent preignition due to heat from the plug. It won't help you retard less ignition timing. Smaller gap is just to help keep the spark from blowing out during boost, it won't cause detonation.

Yea, if you are breakin up at higher rpms, or it runs rough under boost then its probably b/c of the gap, try .32 or .35 or so, that should be good for the boost we are running... I think I have mine at .32..

lol that is funny about the battery thing, i got my laptop for free(pos) so its not worth spending $50+ on a battery from ebay lol..

I love the car man, gotta love a nicely done 4g!

1 step colder is fine for 9 psi, as for gap, go for .28 to .32 imo
