Over heating question on turbo lude

I never use my a/c in San Diego but I just got back from a trip to Vegas and the temps were around 110 the whole weekend, so I had to use it. Anyways when going up there the car would stay normal until we would stop on the freeway for stop and go traffic, the temp would rise to the top of the thermometer logo. I am not sure if it would go any higher because i would shut down the ac when it happened and the temp would go back to normal after a minute or so. this happened a few times in Vegas when I was just going from light to light with the ac on.
My questions: Is this normal operating temps when in a very hot area? If I had left the ac on would it have gone any higher or stayed at the top of the logo? The a/c was still cold the whole time we used it but what can I do to prevent it from going that high again? higher pressure radiator cap? wire a pull fan for the front of the radiator? I am trying to stay very cheap, free if possible.

My stock temp gauge also goes up in stop and go traffic when the AC is on. I am thinking about putting a second fan on the C&R radiator but get a feeling that will not help. Perhaps the hondata gasket will help? When the stock temp gauge needle is at 3/4 of the way to the redline, Hondata reads around 208 degrees.

There has got to be something that can be done about the manifold generating so much heat as well . Anyone have any suggestions that won't be detrimental to the manifold?

i don't think the hondata gasket will help, you guys are having issues with coolant temperature, not air temperature. a small drop in intake temp isn't really going to affect the coolant temp much. the solution probably lies in the radiator, but i dunno. never have problems like that in san francisco.

EVEN WITH the c and r radiator your temps rise. I guess that rules out the new radiator solution.
the only thing I can think of that would help get rid of turbo heat would be a hood with the hole right above the the turbo. then when it rains switch hoods. anything else will lessen the life of the manifold from the inside.

I had this same problem, I went to a local auto parts store Auto Zone, and bought a 10" Front mount radiator fan, and placed it in front of my radiator to push through it, and it helped incredibly!
Here is a pic kind of difficult to see, but you get the point, 12" WILL NOT FIT, you have to do a 10", and it is a very tight squeeze. Also from your temp fluctuating soo badly I would recomend an oil change soon, the chemicals and thigns in your oil will not work after consistent overheating, this could cause fatal engine dammage.

sugar coat the manifold and the turbo housing if you want...that might help keep the heat from radiating all over. I always felt that the OEM radiator with OEM fans was the best for cooling, but if you gotta big turbo in there you have to go with C&R.

I don't overheat at all after installing the front mount fan on my stock radiator. I lost the fan on the eft side due to my large turbo, so this worked out great.
