bottom line :
out of the box, the jrsc will run fine on many cars. on many cars, it will run dangerously lean or be prone to "detonation," which is very bad and will destroy your motor.
the least expensive way to address this, if you are one of the unlucky ones, is to get larger fuel injectors, a new fuel management unit (fmu) and probably a vafc (not essential.) figure on $750 or so plus time on the dyno for tuning. this will let you run nice and rich, and if you keep the boost at 6psi, have good gas (preferably 93/94 octane) and keep the timing retard knob retarded (i.e. don't play with it) then your motor will last.
next step up is a standalone computer, like hondata, aem, or efi pms, and larger injectors. figure $1000 minimum and more like $1500 by the time you are done tuning. this gives you more accurate control over fueling and timing.
last step is to "build" the motor, which means making it's internal bits stronger. this costs a lot of money, because you have to take it out, take it apart, replace pieces with more expensive ones, put it back together, and then put it in the car. figure $5000ish.
the last route should be bulletproof, but in truth if you aren't running >6psi probably should not be undertaken.
final note : if you do not have money to rebuild or replace your motor, or need your car every day, and couldn't afford to be without it, do not turbocharge or supercharge your prelude. period.
