oil pumps...

yea i know oil pam to oil pumps.

i want to know what is the best one. i will not run an electric pump. i wouldnt recommend running one of those in any car.

people keep recommending Endyn (sp?). there site seems so unprofessional i dont know if i want to trust them. if they had a good rep you think they would be better represented.

has anyone tried kms products? i havent heard a lot about them or there products. seem a little pricey, but i have no clue what the going rate of a high flow oil pump is.

site for reference http://www.honda-performance.com/internals.asp

im going to need something better then stock. trust me.

Endyn is focused on providing a quality product, not making a fancy-pants website.

Even with the Endyn messageboard closed, the archives and articles, and some of the components sections have some great information.

Really, the OEM one is fine.
Just run an OEM crank pulley with no damage/chips and intact rubber or a fluidampr.

But if you want a modded pump, yes, go with Endyn.

I run an Endyn modified oil pump on my track car, and I just built an engine for DR with an Endyn modified oil pump. The oil pressure is incredible, and he doesn't even shim the relief valve. It's just that much more efficient.

If you're worried about the oil pump gear, buy a CircuitWorx gear, and a new OEM housing. Have Endyn mod the pump, and while you're at it, have them go over the CircuitWorx piece to make sure it fits perfectly.

However, if you're running a solid crank pulley, or making tons of power without a proper damper, no aftermarket pump driven directly off the snout of the crank is going to last. If you're really concerned about the oil pump failing, buy a Peterson dry sump setup. However you won't be able to run AC (the pump resides where the AC compressor sits), and it'll set you back about $3,500, IIRC.

After working with Larry a few times over the years, I've learned he has more important things to do than run a web site. Unfortunately (or fortuantely, depending on how you look at it), we're the same way. I don't think many people would buy a complete engine from us based on the web site!

They will supply a new oil pump, but I don't believe they'll source the gear for you from CircuitWorx (I'm sure they will, but it might be cheaper/faster to get it yourself), it's not a cheap part either. The gear costs more than the oil pump!

so to my new question. will a stock oil pump support my goal of 600-800hp?
