Oil Light ?'s

Hey guys, ever seen the oil light flicker once a boosted h22 gets hot? Pressure is good at cold start, no noise or light. But when car is up to operating temp when your driving then press in clutch and rpms dip down really low to like 3-400rpms the light flickers for a second then it eventually pulls back up to 850-900.???Why is that?

if the light is on then you have no oil pressure. Anything below 700 rpm is too low and you might damage your motor.

engine is heating up and main bearing clearance is increased and oil pressure drops. sounds like a rebuild to me.

When the motor heats up the the main bearinf clearance does not increase, the oil viscosity decreases causing the oil to thin out allowing the pressure to drop. Your problem is your oil pump might be on its way out and your idle needs to be set higher.
