New guy with a question.....

I am new to this forum and to the Honda Prelude stuff, well import stuff really. Had always been domestic guy for a long time. Thought I would try something different (for me) this time.
I have the JRSC and was wondering what Throttle Body you guys are running with this? Also....is there a better than stock lower intake that will work with the JRSC?

I have a 99 with the 22 engine, manual trans

I've been using the stock throttle body. I believe it's 62mm diameter. You could bore out the stock one to 64mm I hear, but aftermarket companies make them as large as 70mm. I am not sure how much more gains you can expect from a larger throttle body unless you start porting the intake opening of the supercharger to match it.

As for your question to who makes a larger, lower intake manifold, there is nobody at the moment, but there is a process called extrude honing that runs a sandy, coarse liquid-like mixture through the inside of an object (such as intake manifilds). This will erode out the internal metal, effectively "boring" it out. I don't think anyone has ever done this on a supercharged H22 yet, but you could be the first. Pictures if you do!

Im using a skunk 2 68mm with mine, the JR throttle body adaptor has been bored to match, and the blower to IM JR adaptor and lower intake manifold have been ported and smoothed out.

LHT performance is supposed to make a lower intake manifold with built in aftercooler, its not listed on their website, but if you call them they have them available.

Geramy, have you ever seen this aftercooler installed on any other supercharged preludes? I know that companies have made one for B18C engines, but never actually seen or heard of one on a H22 w/ JRSC.

Thanks for the info. I think I am going to look at porting the factory intake. I ordered the Skunk2 TB.....nice looking piece. Can't wait until it gets in. I am really thinking about the after cooler though.
I have the PCM that JRSC sent with the kit. Would it be worth it to get something like the AEM direct fit programmable PCM? Right now we are going to be running the settings that the charger was sent with. At least till the engine is broken in. We are building a Darton Sleeved block, Forged Pistons, forged rods, all new valve train with stock cams and ported head. Wanted to do the engine once. lol.

Ditch the JR EMS, its totally not worth it, get a real stand alone, one that your tuner is familiar with.

Ok...starting to do some preassemblies on the superchanger and such. Still waiting on the engine to come back My question is this. I have the Skunk2 68mm throttle body now to go with this. Is there any issues with not running the IAC, as the new throttlebody does not have the provisions for it?
