N/A vs Turbo vs SC

ok right now I have a base 5 spd 01, stock. I am going to start modding soon when I get some $. Eventually I want to go turbo or SC.....I haven't decided yet which one. What kind of mods are "universial" to all these set ups...I don't want to buy mods that are only good with N/A setup then when I go boost end up having to replace them.....any info will be greatly apprecited.....THANKS

JJ

Re: N/A vs Turbo vs SC

with turbo, you won't use your header or intake. with the SC, you won't be able to get to your cam gears and you'll have to cut your intake up. accessory pulleys should work with both setups but will require different belts with the SC. cams are probably not a good idea unless they're designed for FI, same for higher anything that raises compression (internals, headgasket...)

electronics like the VAFC may not be a great idea depending on what type of fuel management you go with when you go turbo, but it may also be quite useful.

So basicaly I'm going to have to build for which ever I choose...Well I think I'm gonna go with SC cause my lude will be a daily driver and after doing a search SC seems to cause less wear and tear...any thoughts on this.....also in the long run which(turbo or SC) will give the most advantages?

If you want to prep your car for FI and not sure what which one your going with, do the internals. Get new rods, pistons and have your block sleeved. Both sc and turbo's can use that build up. And of course a full cat-back exhaust can be used too.

I agree about not believing the hype. I agree that there are many daily driven turbos out there. I believe, that one day, every Prelude will either have or want a turbo. One day, boost will be a daily used commodity, not just a wish on a young enthusiast's deepest thoughts. One day, big luders and small will gather around a park, and speak of the many exotics left in the dust. Speak of tall tales against 12sec stock supercars, having a rectal cavity handed to them. One day, not today, not tomorrow, but one day. And when that day comes, I can hurridly say, I've been there.... I've done that.... I've got to be crazy spending all that money on parts when it was all too easy. Boost.... Boost.....

Turbocharge .....
