I was on the Dyno yesterday getting my car tuned with the EMS. We were at 10 lbs and all of a sudden the car just quit and died. It seems to be something electrical.
We let the car cool down and tried to start it up and the alternator belt is screeching like crazy now. The car starts up but then dies right away and when it does the tach on the car is all over the place bouncing.
As for other ignition related parts, I'm using a MSD blaster coil, and NGK plug wires (brand new)
My question is, if the alternator is going bad or is bad will it cause something like this?
Any help or suggestion would be great. Thanks

mine did that too. Mine was the crank pully. Your car wont go into limp mode because you are on ems. I would start there and work my wya up towards the alternator.
In EMS bring up the ignition and fuel maps and run a cross so you can see if it is anything ems.
Turns out the EMS took a dump.... AEM is going to replace it for me.

Thats good! You get the second generation board in there now! i sent mine in for it too. It will run much faster once you get it back. Plus there is added capabilities.
I hope they have a fast turn around time. Thanks for the replies

Well AEM sent me back me repaired EMs unit and it crapped out on me after I hit redline on a third gear pull doing a little street tune. I know it's the AEM cause the car starts up fine with the stock ECU.
AMS, the guys that tuned the crazy EVO are the ones doing my tuning so, it's not a tuner issue.
Anyone else having issues with thier Unit?

I highly doubt that any kind of tuning would fry a board or resistor on the board. The car just shut off and stopped providing spark. The Stock ECU fires up the car fine. The car was 95% tuned on the Dyno by the time we went street tuning.
