Mileage too high for FI?

My 96 Si has 83k miles on it at the moment. I know that I should get a compression & leak-down test before actually going-for-broke on this project, but in the opinions of the FI EXPERTS within PO.com, is it worthwhile to pursue forced induction on an engine w/ 83k miles, or should I just trade the car in at a dealer (or sell it somehow), and start from scratch w/ a lower mileage car?

Honda engines have a long life expectancy if they're treated right. If the engine hasn't been abused, and it's been well maintained, go get the compression test done and see if that's good.. I have experience with a two civics that have 400,000+ km on them. Mind you, they're sure not boosted hehe. They still pull hard though!

Get the compression test done, if the piston compression is good, consider having your head redone (new valves, guides, springs, etc), your ignition system replaced with new OEM or aftermarket, and consider upgrades to your cooling system like having the radiator replaced. I think you'd look at getting most of this done on something with less miles anyhow (excepting maybe the headwork).

Depends what you'd be more comfortable with, I guess. Both look like a little bit of a PITA hehe.

There is really no need to replace your radiator. Preludes don't really have problems with overheating after turbo. I personally have 68k on my car and the turbo will be on within a week or two. All I did to prepare was the usual maintenance stuff: plugs, wires, cap, rotor, etc. If you haven't done timing belt and water pump, maybe you could do that. Otherwise, if your compression is fine, go for it.

130k mile on my stock. 600 miles with boost. I did compression and leak donw test before I went FI. 200 across the board when I did it.

This is very encouraging. Looks like I'll go for the tests first. Damn, I'm glad I bought a Honda!
