a little update on the turbo

Got the turbo back earlier this week.

Had it trimmed to

.63 a/r to4E stage3 super 54 wheel.

The t04E didn't fit! it hit the manifold at the 2nd runner, so i had to send it back.

Majestic turbo is really cool, and they're going to make a 50 trim from a to4e fit into a to4B housing.

They told me that the 54 trim was tamer than the 50 trim, so i'm going w/ the super 50 trim!

it should take a week or more to get back to me since the mail is clogged back for a few days.

Tim

So how do they come up with a super trim for the 54? is it only going to affect spooling? wouldn't the compression map change then?

so you are saying that the drag manifold cannot accomodate the t4e housing? what a/r is the compressor housing? is the t4b housing much bigger than the t4e housing?

btw, how much did it cost you? I paid 285 for rebuilding ( without changing parts at all), not to mention 50 for honing bearing housing ( mine was badly scratched on the inside) and 80 for 360 degree thrust bearing.

the more i think about it, the more I think i overpaid.

I had to grind on my TO4E compressor to make it fit on my Drag manifold.

That's too bad. I really wanted to see the new power curve that the new trim is going to give you. Hopefully it will be back soon.

to4B ---> TO4E housing super 54 trim = $350 (they cleaned the exhaust housing too!)

i've seen the drag manifold accomodate an E housing, but i guess some don't. Mine was going to go INTO the manifold if i bolted it down, so there was no way that would have worked.

~250 is the price for a rebuild.

Hopefully i'll get it back soon to get a new dyno posted!
