JSRC - can it be removed?

Just thinking along these lines (like everyone else here) and I was wondering, after a successful install and tuning of the JSRC, what considerations would I need to make if I wanted to remove it? For example, if I were selling the car or giving it to my sister or a friend a few years down the road and didn't want to hassle them with the maintenance of the SC? Just curious...

there's a thread right now on the FI integra board about removing it. it's not much easier than putting it on, but it's certainly possible. just be sure to keep all the parts they rip out of the intake manifold...

With regards to the Prelude kit, the only things that come to my mind when removing the supercharger kit include:

- The hole created in the stock airbox cover for a breather hose to the valve cover. (This is assuming you kept the stock intake instead of a good aftermarket one).

- Bending the ABS lines back to their proper conformation

- Taking care in re-soldering the wires to/from the ECU (from the removal of the Prelude EMS).

That's all I can think of for now. Obviously, the less permanent damage you do during the install, the easier it is to revert it back to stock shape. Going by the instruction manual, it seems like an easy (?) affair, just in reverse. New gaskets will have to be used, and the like.

I'll try to add more later...

Believe me, when people see a supercharger in the prelude engine bay, they'll kill you if you even attempt to remove it!

Powersteering bypass valve as well. I think that may require some special mention?

"Bypass valve?" I never knew one existed.

There is, however, the P/S hose relocation adaptor, but that's a simple unbolt, move, and bolt on stock parts affair.

Would there be anything Lt affects regarding the longevity of the engine once the SC got removed.

I'm currently looking a car which previously a SC and so far besides the compression and leak down test...is there anything else i can do to feel comfortable that the engine is still in good shape.

Just curious...is warranty almost completly voided on engine once SC or Turbo are installed? If something were to go wrong, would you just unintall SC, and take it in for repair?

if you have a honda dealer install the jrsc, your warranty may be intact. i called several in my area and that's what they said, although i wouldn't *count* on that.

if there is any possibility the engine damage occured due to the mods you've made, 9/10 honda dealers will justifiable deny warranty service. if it's unrelated they need to fix it regardless of what mods you have.
