JRSC waiting to be installed...

i finally got my jrsc...after a whole month! dont buy from landspeed in arizona bad prices...bad customer service anyhow im waiting on my mechanic to install it...maybe this weekend or the next, but i have a question i know the kit comes with its own fpr so should i buy a seperate fp gauge? because the performance stores in my area sell the fpr with the gauge connected and thats what they recommend. but since the kit already has it....what do you guys think?

one more thing, im at 36000mi and heard that i should change my timing belt b/c it will be expensive later with the jrsc installed is this true? also i want to get pulleys, will it be hard to install afterwards?

sorry so many questions...but thanks!

A month's a long time, mine took two days I don't think you should use any other fpr than the Jackson one, it can handle a lot of pressure. It is also very expensive so you might as well use what you paid for. I think your stores are just trying to make more money off you or they don't know how to do a fp gauge any other way I had 27,000 on mine and I couldn't afford to change the timing belt, but if you have the cash go for it. Its not hard it just takes awhile and if your mechanic is a d*ck than he will charge you an arm and a nose. I say forget about the pulleys this thing puts out a lot of power and the extra 2hp might not be worth it. Use it towards something else. Another thing is when you get it put on your car is probablt going to feel like the power steering was taking out, thats what mine felt like anyway, and the pulleys might make this even worse.

The steering wheel is much harder to turn. I geuss it would be like dropping your car four inches or something. It never goes back to normal but after awhile I can't feel it anymore but anyone else who drives my car can. Its really no big deal, it makes the car feel more like a race car. It also helps with torque steer.

my gas pedel (sic) just doesn't feel as nimble and responsive
as it used to. it is a bit mushy. this would be acceptable, because
it's not really mushy; just mushy compared to a stock lude.
the real problem is that between 3500 and 4500 RPM, if i let off the
gas, it vibrates. sometimes it's pretty fierce and audible, sometimes
it's barely there. nobody has any idea what causes it, besides the
obvious fact that the throttle cable is attached directly to the
supercharger itself. obviously there is some sympathetic vibration
going on.

Don't go with the FPR that another company is supplying you, unless you know for a fact that it is a Rising Rate Fuel Pressure Regulator with a 1 psi Fuel:1mm Hg Vacuum and 5 psi fuel: 1 psi boost pressure rising rates. Even then, I'd still stick with the easy route and use the FMU supplied with the kit (also the one you already PAID for!).

A Fuel Pressure gauge will be most helpful, as it'll allow to set your baseline pressures correctly, and it serves as a troubleshooter, should you need to call the techs at Jackson Racing.

Installing pulleys should be the same before or after the supercharger installation. Just make a note as to how the belt travels around the different pulleys.

If you do choose to install the pulleys prior to the supercharger installation, be sure to purchase the correct alternator-A/C belt, a 6PK1970 belt.

Schwett you don't have the steering problem. I don't have any leaks in my car. Maybe your just to strong to tell the difference My pedal also vibrates but only when I go 90-130 on the freeway and let off the gas, it vibrates a lot. My pedal is actually stiffer than stock. I geuss it all depends on who installs it.

i assume you meant for there to be a question mark at the end of that first sentence? if so, no, i don't have a steering problem. it feels normal. sounds like you have the same type of vibration as mine, but at slightly higher RPMS. mine is 3500-4500, which translates to 70-90mph and not 90-130. of course, i would not be going 130 on the freeway, so maybe i have it there too. be very careful running at such high speeds with boost. your engine was not meant to withstand those temperatures for a prolonged period.
