JRSC Setup

In a couple months I'm going to start looking into buying a JRSC. I have made a price list of all the things I plan on getting. I was just wondering if I was missing anything and if my prices are accurate. JRSC-$3500, Colder Plugs- NGK ZFR7F-$50, Autometer Gauges: Boost, A/f mix ratio, Oil and fuel pressure gauges-$250, JR VPAC-280. That's what I'll start out with. Then I'm looking at these: Quaife LSD-$1000, ACT HD SS Clutch-$350, Fidanza Lightweight Flywheel-$400 and then for the bolt ons Mugen Exhaust-$1000, AEM Short Ram Intake-$150, Kamikaze Header-$250. Then tons of tuning. How does this setup sound?? I would like to hear all opinions. Thanks for all the replies.

first off $50 for plugs... heh. zfr7fs cost about 2 or 3 bucks each. you also should be able to get the jrsc itself for about 2800.

the mugen exhaust may not be your best bet for a FI setup; others can probably shed some more light on that. the exhaust piping is relatively small diameter. i have also heard some negative things about the kamikaze headers for the prelude. they are great for supercharged tegs, but i haven't come across any positive first hand reports for the prelude. your base point of jrsc, plugs, and gauges sounds good to me.

Agreed.

Schwett answered everything you needed to know, but I'll go ahead and add one small thing:

The reason the Kamikaze headers work so well w/ the B-series folks is that they specify the 'supercharger' header application, which consists of the same ceramic 4-1 header, but with much larger primaries and a larger collector, with respect to the 'normal' 4-1 Kamikaze header.

Because the Prelude JRSC kit has been out for only a short period of time, I doubt Kamikaze will make a supercharger application for us anytime soon. Also, fit & finish on the Kami's hasn't been too good, but some people just have the manifold modified due to it's higher gains up top.

Just to re-emphasize, don't pay over 3 grand for the supercharger kit, and unless you're buying 24 spark plugs, $50 is a LOT for copper spark plugs. Gap 'em to 1mm or less (<= 0.039").

Yeah I know I could get some stuff for cheeper but I marked up the prices to know the max that I will spend. If the Mugen exhaust is not the right one then I'll save a good 500 bucks.

Thanks guys

EDIT-BTW, What would be a good exhaust, thats not much louder than stock and isn't tooo big??

that is a question i'd love to know the answer too... thermal is well spoken of by the guys at endyn, but their classic setups are LOUD AS HELL. i have not heard the stealth system, but i don't see that they make one for a 5th gen. the 4th gen version might fit. i also don't know if it would be appropriate for FI. custom may be the way to go.

any exhaust pros out there?

Chomorro,

Where did you get your install done? I see that you're also from SD and wanted to know if they did a decent install.
