JRSC question need help quick

So i have everything in and i'm looking at what the instructions call the EMS Knob

It is the boost/retard knob

min | max

now they tell me to set the nob at 10 clicks and go full throtle till i hear pinging and if i hear pinging to rotate it clockwise, which would be to the max direction, but alot of people talk about only being like 4-6 clicks can someone explain this for me?

Thanks

Put it at 10 clicks. Don't lower it unless you get it on a dyno.
